Warranty and repair

In short

When you buy something at Window Cleaner Depot, you may assume that the product works correctly and is suitable for normal professional use. Even so, an item can become defective or stop working properly.
Depending on the type of product, its age and the cause of the problem, you may be entitled to warranty, a repair or another solution. On this page you will find an overview of how warranty and repairs are handled at Window Cleaner Depot, so you know where you stand.

Manufacturer's warranty

Most products at Window Cleaner Depot are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty is granted by the manufacturer and applies for a period they determine. If an item becomes defective within this period, and the problem falls under the manufacturer’s warranty conditions, you are entitled to a repair or replacement at no extra cost.

Conditions for the manufacturer’s warranty:

  • the product was used normally and correctly
  • the defect is not the result of wear, incorrect use, faulty assembly or external damage
  • the manufacturer’s warranty conditions are respected

The exact warranty conditions differ per brand and product and can usually be found on the product packaging or in the documentation.
Consumables and parts subject to normal wear (such as rubbers, brushes, filters, resins, and so on) are generally not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, unless stated otherwise.

Proof of warranty

Your invoice or proof of purchase serves as proof of warranty.

For webshop orders you can find this in your account.
For purchases in the shop, the original receipt or invoice is enough.

Without a valid proof of purchase, a warranty claim can be refused.

A broken item?

Has your item become defective and do you suspect it is covered by warranty? Then we look at this case by case.

Within the return period
If you receive an item that is already defective on delivery and you are still within the return period, you can return it according to the applicable return procedure. In that case, please contact us as soon as possible.

Outside the return period
If the return period has expired but the warranty is still running, you can request a repair.

  • Purchase through the webshop
  • Report the problem through your account or contact our customer service. We will guide you through the process.
  • Purchase in the shop
  • Bring the item to the shop or contact our customer service in advance to discuss the next steps.

For large or fixed installations (such as reverse osmosis systems or tanks), this always happens in consultation.

Paying for a repair

If the warranty has expired, or the defect is not covered by the warranty conditions (for example through wear, incorrect use or external damage), then

a repair can sometimes still be carried out against payment.

Before a paid repair is carried out:

  • you receive an estimate of the repair costs
  • we do not carry out any repair without your explicit approval

In that case you can choose to:

  • have the item repaired against payment
  • have the item returned without repair (any inspection or transport costs can be charged)

If a repair is no longer technically or economically worthwhile, we will let you know.

Frequently asked questions about warranty & repair

I have a question about warranty or repair

Not sure whether your item is covered by warranty, or which step to take? Then contact our customer service. We will look at your purchase together and find the most suitable solution.

How does sending in large or heavy items work?

For large, heavy or fixed products such as reverse osmosis systems, tanks, ladders or complete systems, a repair or return always happens in consultation with our customer service. In some cases collection is possible, but the transport costs can be passed on.

I do not see the option to start a repair

Do you not see an option to request a repair in your webshop account, or was the item bought in the shop? Then contact our customer service. We will help you further and give you the right instructions.

Do I have to print a shipping label to send an item in for repair?

Yes. To send an item in for repair, you have to provide and print a shipping label yourself. After registering your repair, you receive clear instructions about where and how the item must be sent. Make sure the parcel is packed correctly and sturdily. The customer remains responsible for the transport and any damage during shipping, unless agreed otherwise.

How long does a repair take on average?

The duration of a repair depends on the type of product, the nature of the defect and the availability of parts. We keep you informed during the process and let you know as soon as your item is ready or further action is needed.
